Product Details-
Black is perhaps the most underrated colour in an Indian woman's saree wardrobe. It is considered too stark, too plain, too western for a saree — and yet when black meets handblock printing and Chanderi silk cotton, something entirely different happens. It becomes rich, layered, and deeply rooted in craft tradition.
This black and brown Chanderi silk cotton saree opens with a bold, confident body — large shield-shaped floral butas printed densely in white across a deep black ground, each motif containing intricate leaf and floral detailing that rewards a close look. The print has a strength and presence that makes the saree feel substantial without being heavy. It is not delicate. It is assured.
The pallu shifts the mood to something warmer and more intricate — multiple border stripes in earthy brown, cream, and black carrying different botanical patterns, culminating in a cream ground with large flowing leaf and paisley motifs in brown and black. The transition from the bold black body to the warm earthy brown pallu is completely natural — like the saree exhales as it unfolds.
The deep maroon border edging adds a final touch of warmth that keeps the whole saree from feeling cold or stark.
This saree is for the woman who is not afraid of black, who appreciates craft over colour, and who wants to wear something that looks completely original. It works for office wear on days when you want to make a quiet statement, and for evening occasions where you want understated sophistication rather than obvious glamour.
Pair it with a plain cream, rust, or deep maroon blouse — any of the three will bring out different facets of this saree beautifully.
